Dozer piss all over The Sword! Must admit I really don't get The Sword, the vocals are shoite...
Think both times I have seen Dozer they were supporting Clutch, hopefully they'll come back as support for a tour soon.

you totally missed my point mate, im not comparing the 2 bands directly. it has been said on these forums that havent toured the uk as headliners cos we dont really do stoner, i was just makin the point that the sword (regardless of what you think of them) had sold out the acadamy just days earlier and was a crackin gig. so what stoppin these lot who are a more established band from doin some uk gigs as headliners

I think it is great that a heavy band such as The Sword can sell out the academy, don't get me wrong, but still think there are many more deserving bands of headling out there. The Sword's level of popularity does mystify me though, having seen them live myself and owning the records I reckon they are really quite average.
Any stoner band would struggle to do a UK tour of academy sized venues without doing it on the back of a more mainstream accepted band such as Monster Magnet, COC or Clutch. Thanks to the aforementioned bands I have seen Dozer, Mastodon (before they broke big) and HOF.
Dozer are a far better band than The Sword in my opinion and deserve to be headlining gigs worldwide, as do High on Fire - who barely filled Nice and Sleazys in Glasgow (150 cap at most) when they were last over.
The UK doesn't get heavy music, personally I don't think the UK gets "music" full stop. I mean, Mika?!
